THE MUTANT ANT
In order to get around, the mutant ant has developed incredible tunnelling abilities that allow them to build complex networks that span across countries, by releasing acidic secretions that dissolve sediments and roots to create tunnels, that simultaneously destroy soil and plant life.
The mutant ants also have the ability to produce hydrophobic spray that waterproofs the tunnels.However, consequentially the hydrophobic spray wets the soil and seals the surface of the land. This leads to soil crusting that inhibits the infiltration of water and soil aeration to nourish the soil and crops.
